  • Usage Data: We may collect information about how you access and use the Service, including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent.

4. How We Process Your Resume

When you upload a resume, the text is extracted and sent to OpenAI's API (GPT-4o) for analysis. This processing is done in real-time to generate your scores and feedback. Key points:

  • Your resume text is sent to OpenAI solely for the purpose of providing analysis
  • OpenAI's API does not use your data for training their models (per their API data usage policy)
  • Analysis results are stored in our database so you can access them later
  • You can delete your resume data at any time from your dashboard

5. Google API Services — Limited Use Disclosure

ResumesAI's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically, we only access Google Drive data that you explicitly select through the file picker. We do not:

  • Access any Google Drive files beyond those you select
  • Store your Google account credentials
  • Share your Google data with third parties
  • Use your Google data for advertising or any purpose other than resume analysis

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information:

  • Passwords are hashed using bcrypt (never stored in plain text)
  • All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Database access is restricted and encrypted in transit
  • We regularly review and update our security practices

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information and resume data for as long as your account is active. You may:

  • Delete individual resume analyses from your dashboard

Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
